NT4 DUN Configuration
  • Open the Hard Disk
  • Double-Click the "Dial-Up Networking Icon."
  • Click the "New" button.
  • Choose "I already know about DUN connections."
  • Click the "Finish" button.
  • Set the "Entry Name" with the name of your internet service provider.
  • Set the phone number (It is a good idea to add 3 or 4 commas to the end of the phone number.)
  • Don't use telephony dialing properties.
  • Set 10 digit dialing or "call waiting" (*70,) directly into the "Phone number" box.
  • Select the modem in the "Dial Using" drop-down list.
  • Click the "Configure..." button.
  • Set the correct speed for your modem (38400 for 33.6 or slower modems 57600 for 56k modems.)
  • Click the "OK" button.

 

 

  • Click the Server tab to see the following window:
  • Select "PPP:Windows NT,Windows 95..." as the Dial-up server type.
  • Select "TCP/IP."
  • Select "Enabling software compression."
  • Click on the "TCP/IP Settings..." button.

 

 

  • Select "Server assigned IP address."
  • Select "Server assigned name server address."
  • Select "Use IP header compression."
  • Select "Use default gateway on remote network."
  • Click the "OK" button.
  • Choose "Accept any authentication including clear text."
  • Click the "OK" button.

 

  • Click the "Dial" button.
  • Click "OK" to connect to the internet.
